Interview Prep

So you’re interested in being interviewed for the Podcast. That is freaking awesome and I’m super excited to talk to you.

You can connect with me via my social media (Facebook, Twitter, Reddit, and Instagram) or through email and my website's contact form. I aim to respond within 24 hours.

Once you reach out, I'll gather some basic information and send you a link to my calendar to schedule a 15-minute 'Pre-Interview' call, either by phone or Zoom.

Information I will need from you

  • Name & Job Title

  • University Attended & Degree(s)

  • Website & Article links to your work, or relates to the work you do.

  • Contact Information you would like posted in the show notes. Ex. LinkedIn, any social media, professional websites., etc.

  • Title you want for your episode. Ex. Distribution Marketing w/ YOUR NAME

  • Picture you would like to have displayed as the thumbnail for your episode on social media.

Interview Process
    • I'll ask you to provide any links to your work, such as research papers, articles, job descriptions, or anything else that can help me understand your expertise.

    • You’ll receive an email beforehand outlining the questions and topics we’ll cover in the interview for your review. This is your chance to raise any questions, comments, or concerns.

    • If everything looks good, I’ll send you another link to schedule the actual interview.

In the meantime, you can use the link below to set up your pre-interview

    • Wear whatever you feel comfortable and relaxed in, even though zoom will record video and audio, the video will not be used for anything.

    • Interviews usually run for about 45 minutes to an hour. If you have a strict time constraint, please let me know so we can ensure we finish on time as I want to be respectful of your time.

    • I typically conclude the interview with four key questions:

      • What’s the best piece of advice you would offer to someone interested in your field?

      • What changes do you wish to see in your industry?

      • What do you absolutely love about your job and/or the industry you work in?

      • Where can listeners learn more about you and/or what you do?

    • After the interview is recorded, about a week or so before the episode will air, you will receive a link from me to listen to the final draft before it is posted. If any adjustments need to be made, please let me know.

    • Set up your computer somewhere quiet, ideally with a door that you can close and has a solid internet connection.

    • If at all possible, use a mic and some headphones. This doesn’t have to be fancy. Any kind of headphones with a built-in mic will do (e.g. AirPods or earbuds with the little mic attached), but feel free to use something nice if you have it.

    • If you don’t have a mic, make sure you stay close to your computer. Try not to vary your distance so that your volume stays consistent.
